El documental empieza presentando la situación de Islandia, un pequeño país europeo que había logrado mantener un equilibrio entre el desarrollo y la ecología, el crecimiento económico y el avance social. Tras un cambio liberal en las políticas financieras e inversionistas, ese sistema juicioso acaba volviéndose insostenible hasta que explota la burbuja y el país se va a la quiebra.
"Inside Job" muestra el delito interno colectivo ejecutado por banqueros, políticos, cabilderos, agencias calificadoras e incluso profesores de universidades que utilizan su poder para llenarse los bolsillos. (lo que llaman el Gobierno de Wall Street). Enormes salarios, premios, y bonos que alimentan su ambición desmesurada. Creación de nuevos productos financieros atractivos. Un sistema globalizado lleno de academismos y tecnicismos imposibles de descifrar. Calificaciónes que resultan ser falsas, y un largo etcétera de fraudes internos perfectamente orquestados.
El derrumbe financiero ha costado billones de dólares. Millones de personas han perdido sus empleos y sus casas. Los que mueven los hilos no pierden nada, ellos ya se han enriquecido. ¿Se les va a exigir alguna responsabilidad?
"Inside job" nos muestra esta situación a través de entrevistas a financieros, politicos, periodistas y académicos. Quizás algunos conceptos se dejan en el aire y otros son demasiado técnicos para la comprensión del público en general pero es importante tener en cuenta que en la web de la película hay mucha información adicional de utilidad que puede ayudar a comprenderlos.

The documentary starts presenting the situation in Iceland, a small European country that had managed to maintain a balance between development and ecology, economic growth and social progress. After a liberal change in financial policies, that wise system changed to become unsustainable. The bubble burst and the country went bankrupt.
"Inside Job" shows the internal crime group run by bankers, politicians, lobbyists, rating agencies and even university professors who use their power to fill their pockets in. (What they call the Government of Wall Street). Huge salaries, awards and bonuses that feed his excessive ambition. Creation of new financial products incredibly attractive. A full global system of academic and technical concepts that result impossible to understand. Financial qualifications that are false, and a long list of well orchestrated internal fraud.
The financial meltdown has cost billions of dollars. Millions of people have lost their jobs and their homes. The organizers of this meltdown do not lose anything, just the opposite: they have been enriched. Are they going to be asked for accountability?
"Inside Job" shows this situation through interviews to financiers, politicians, journalists and academics. Maybe some items are left in the air and some are too technical for the general public understanding but it is important to keep in mind that on the film website, there is useful additional information that may help to understand everything.
