Keeping into account that objects are used and then thrown away in our consuming culture, may be it is important to think about what happens when half the earth population is considered as objects. Very respectful, isn't it?
It may be also important to think deeply on how advertising manipulates human mind and what the consequences can be.
Jean Kilbourne, (1943) is internationally recognized for her work on the image os women in advertising. Analysing mass media advertising campaigns, Kilbourne shows us how the beauty ideal still tirannizes women, how male voilence against women is used to sell products, how grown women are infantilized, how beauty is sold as women's main concern and many other examples that show clearly that in many occasions women are considered as nothing more than objects.
This time I share two of her works: Killing us softly 3 (2000) and Killing us softly 4 (2010).

Menudo respeto, ¿no?
