DISEÑANDO EL FUTURO // FUTURE BY DESIGN

¿Qué tal si rediseñáramos la sociedad actual de arriba a abajo? El mundo es lo suficientemente rico en recursos naturales que pueden ser aprovechados por la correcta tecnología, acabando así con la pobreza, las limitaciones, las necesidades de la población mundial y la escasez en la que se basa el sistema actual.
 
  

"FUTURE BY DESIGN" (Diseñando el Futuro) es una película del año 2006 que nos sumerge en las ideas y proyectos de Jacque Fresco, prolífico inventor, diseñador e ingeniero que se describe a si mismo como un “multi-disciplinario autodidacta”  pionero en el campo de la ingeniería a escala humana.

Hoy en día se le conoce mayoritariamente por su aparición en los documentales Zeitgeist Addendum y Zeitgeist Moving Forward, si bien su proyecto denominado PROYECTO VENUS empezó a ser desarrollado ya en los años 70.

Para Fresco un diseño eficiente puede ofrecer comida, ropa, casas y cuidados médicos, entre muchas otras cosas. ¿Sería lógico pagar dinero por respirar cuando el aire es tan abundante? Con la tecnología adecuada toda la población mundial puede acceder a un buen nivel de vida. Cuando esto ocurre, una vez el miedo a la escasez y el stress (tanto físico como mental) derivado que promueve nuestro actual sistema económico haya sido erradicado, las personas serán libres para desarrollar sus capacidades.

Algunas personas piensan que la tecnología contamina. Para Fresco, esto es un error de diseño. Si se aprovechara la energía natural: geotermal, solar, fotovoltaica, eólica, marina, etc... no habría polución. Otras personas personas piensan que la tecnología ha suprimido puestos de trabajo. Para Fresco, la tecnología sirve para facilitar la vida a las personas, de manera que no estén obligadas a trabajar tantas horas y que aquellas funciones repetitivas y tediosas puedan ser realizadas por máquinas, dejando así la libertad suficiente a los seres humanos para desarrollar plenamente la creatividad, el ingenio y la vocación.

El dinero no es necesario para vivir, sólo es una traba para el pleno desarrollo humano. En muchas ocasiones se dispone del talento, el ingenio y las herramientas y no se hace nada porque no hay dinero disponible. Desde el punto de vista de Jacque Fresco, el dinero resulta un impedimento en lugar de una herramienta facilitadora. Nuestro sistema actual basado en el propio provecho económico no ayuda en absoluto a la humanidad.

"FUTURE BY DESIGN" es un documental futurista con ideas realmente avanzadas a nuestra época. Realmente creo que vale la pena verlo y ojalá sirva de inspiración para muchas mentes creativas. Considerando como está el mundo actualmente, necesitamos muchas nuevas ideas...

What would happen if we redesigned present society from top to bottom? The world is rich enough in natural resources that can be exploited by the right technology, we could stop poverty, limitations, needs of the world population and shortage on which  our current system is based.

FUTURE BY DESIGN is a film made in 2006 that shows Jacque Fresco  ideas and projects. Fresco is a  prolific inventor, designer and engineer who describes himself as a "self-taught multi-disciplinary" pioneer in the field Engineering at a human scale.

Today he is known mostly for its appearance in the documentaries Zeitgeist Addendum y Zeitgeist Moving Forward, although his project called THE VENUS PROJECT began to be developed  in the 70's.

For Fresco, efficient design can provide food, clothing, home and medical care, among many other things. Would it be logical to pay money to breathe when the air is so abundant? With the right technology the world's population can have access to a good standard of living. When this happens, once the fear of scarcity and stress (both physical and mental) that promotes our current economic system has been eradicated, people will be free to develop their skills.

Some people think that pollution is due to technology. For Fresco, this is a design error. If we exploited natural energy successfully: geothermal, solar, photovoltaic, wind, marine, etc ... there would be no pollution. Other people think that technology has eliminated jobs. For Fresco, the technology has to be used to offer an easier life to people, so they are not forced to work long hours and that those repetitive and tedious tasks can be performed by machines, leaving enough freedom for human beings to fully develop creativity, ingenuity and vocation.

Money is not necessary to live, is only an obstacle to full human development. On many occasions we have the talent, ingenuity and the tools but nothing is done because there is no available money. From the point of view of Jacque Fresco, money is an obstacle rather than a facilitating tool. Our present system based on self-economic-profit, does not help humanity at all.

FUTURE BY DESIGN is a futuristic film offering very advanced ideas. I think it is absolutely worth seeing it and hopefully will inspire many other creative minds. Considering how the present world is, new ideas are certainly needed...
